What a concept

I ran into a girl on the metro today who had what I can only describe as a bag of fun. She was showing friends her purchases from the SAM concept store in Paris, which I will now add to my list of locations to go in search of awesome, non-gimmicky xmas presents for family, friends, co-workers and clients. Other include:

Gals Rock (17 Rue Henry Monnier, 75009) This little boutique by No Stress Cafe has a two parts – a book store up front, and a music/listening room in back equipped with a stereo system, couch and wall filled with CDs to explore and test out before purchasing. They also through several event s a month for emerging artists.

Auguste (10 Rue St. Sabin, 75011) you are sure to find a unique piece of art or some fantastic shoes at this boutique/gallery

Colette (213 Rue Saint-Honoré, 75001) for mixes, imports and other hard to find up-and-coming music.

You can find over-priced clothes and good looking people at Le 66 (66 Champ Elysées, 75008)

Voskel (5 rue Jean Pierre Timbaud or 141 rue Amelot, 75011) another clothing boutique cum gallery.

L’Eclaireur (10 Rue Herold, 75001) for elegant accessories like this gorg padlock (with a stalkerish name!)

Can always rely on Merci (111 Boulevard Beaumarchais, 75011) for interesting jewelry pieces

Check out Spree (16 Rue de la Vieuville, 75018 ) for a Basquiat tree ornament.

SAM (35 Rue de Bretagne, 75003 ) has kitschy items like this tape dispenser.

Surface to Air (108 Rue Vieille du Temple, 75003)  the flagship store of this creative direction and consultancy studio is an amazing brand extension. Their unique wares are also available for purchase online, though it may set you back a few.
