Cicada Princess

Cicada Princess is a short film based on a children’s book by the same title, both written and produced by Mauricio Baiocchi (Mauchi) with illustrations and character designs by Steve Ferrera. I love how the Mauricio Baiocchi is drumming up funding for his project. After watching this video and seeing how passionate he is about [...]

Riding Scotland

In this film, we follow Danny MacAskill as he goes on an incredible adventure across Scotland. Footage captured along the way led to the creation of this gorgeous film. I love the unique way these extreme tricks were captured. Also, its unlikely soundtrack assists in contributing to the film’s mesmerizing quality. Enjoy!

The Dreamers

This film by Bertolucci is a work of art. The puritan American in me normally shies away from NC-17 films, but the twisted relationships in this film are captured so artistically that it leaves the viewer captivated rather than appalled. The story about a young American studying in Paris is cliche by itself, but Bertolucci‘s [...]

Influencers

This short documentary called “Influencers: How Trends & Creativity Become Contagious,” is a well-produced look into what defines an ‘influencer’ and how their influence can lead to cultural movements. A lot of the ideas are borrowed from literature related to social media, such as Malcolm Gladwell’s The Tipping Point or Amy Shuen’s Web Strategy 2.0, [...]

Runaway

Kanye West’s short film ‘Runaway‘  features the story of a Phoenix who falls to earth, falls in love, then returns to the sky. While the narrative is disjointed, and the images at times a bit perplexing (e.g. the Michael Jackson float being led by a marching band), in the end what West delivers is nothing [...]
